Scapeghost

Vous êtes (enfin, étiez) un officier de police couronné de succès, Alan Chance, jusqu’à ce que vous soyez tué lors d’un raid sur des trafiquants de drogue, qui ont réussis à prendre un otage au cours de leur raid (vous). Les gens ont supposé que vous étiez mort par la suite puisque tout le monde a disparu par la suite.

Vous n’êtes effectivement pas tout à fait mort puisque vous êtes désomais ni plus ni moins qu’un fantôme, avec des pouvoirs psychiques à la place de vos pouvoirs physiques. Vous commencez votre nouvelle (non) vie à vos propres funérailles, vous devez suivre les conversations pour trouver des indices. Une des premières tâches consiste à trouver des objets qui renforcent vos capacités physiques. Vous avez l’aide d’autres êtres décédés, à commencer par le propriétaire du pub Joe Danby. Plus l’aventure avancera, plus vos relations s’étofferont.

Scapeghost était le dernier jeu d’aventure de Level 9, et il a le même format que ceux existants, ce qui en fait un jeu d’aventure textuel comme on en trouvait beaucoup. Il a néanmoins le don d’y ajouter des images reliant les textes et les zones principales. Les énigmes nécessitent que des instructions soient données aux autres personnages (attendre, pousser, guider, etc). Le jeu est divisé en 3 jours, chacun pouvant être joué indépendamment l’un de l’autre – novembre Graveyard, Haunted House et Poltergeist.
